Wadia Body Builders had humble beginnings. Started by our founder Mr. S.F. Wadia, who came to Ahmedabad in 1969, with just the shirt on his back, five rupees in his pocket and a vision..... “to make the finest coach built vehicles India has ever seen”

The “Wadia Group” as it is known today, was established as Wadia Body Builders, was established on 14th October 1969, with a small investment of 5000 rupees, which was borrowed from a friend, & a band of five workers, all working under a small “tin-shed”. Within a short span of time, the company garnered more than 50% of the of bus market share in Gujarat. An achievement was based on simple but defining attributes, “Give a client best quality material and workmanship, at reasonable prices, and they will always come back to you”.

The next few years saw a dramatic shift in the company’s business portfolio. A chance meeting with a fire chief changed everything!!! Sensing a void in the fire fighting vehicles arena, the Wadia Group took the gamble, and ventured headlong into it. Despite knowing nothing about building fire trucks, the company’s first fire truck, which was taken up as a challenge, was built and delivered in record time, and went on to become a first of many milestones that have been set over the course of the company’s history.

Almost 5 decades later, the Wadia Group has gone from strength to strength, and has become one of India's largest manufacturing infrastructures for Fire Fighting & Emergency response vehicles. The small “tin shed” is now a “state of the art manufacturing facility” spread over 1,50,000 sq. ft, with almost 200 employees, a 1000 strong customer base & over 9000 products supplied to various satisfied clients.
